Press Release: HSW Luzern

Leading Swiss University to Highlight the PGP Encryption Platform in Post-Graduate Information Security Program

Palo Alto, CA/19 July, 2006 - PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, today announced that the University of Economics in Lucerne, Switzerland (known as HSW Luzern), will feature PGP® Desktop, based on the PGP® Encryption Platform, as a key component in a post-graduate program on computer technology and information security. Students who complete the course earn a Master of Advanced Studies in Information Security.

"Data security breaches are significant liabilities for companies, damaging brands and angering consumers on an almost daily basis," said Research Associate Armand Portmann from the University of Economics, Lucerne. "Encryption must be included in a comprehensive study of information security, and our students must be knowledgeable about current information security strategies and proven solutions available today. We're highlighting PGP encryption technology in our program because it has been used for more than a decade and is considered a global de facto standard for encryption."

With the first PGP application they deploy, organizations like HSW Luzern begin to realize the benefits of the PGP Encryption Platform. Additional PGP solutions leverage this common platform, providing lower operational cost and faster implementation compared to point solutions.
