• Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" compatibility - PGP Desktop 9.0.1 fully supports Apple Computer's newest operating system, Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.4.1.
  • Performance boost - PGP Desktop 9.0.1 leverages Apple's Network Kernel Extensions (NKE) to deliver enhanced encryption performance.
  • Seamless security - PGP Desktop 9.0.1 is fully compatible with Tiger's built-in IP firewall.
  • Transport security - Whenever possible, PGP Desktop 9.0.1 ensures transport-level security for all email by using Transport Layer Security (TLS, formerly Secure Sockets Layer [SSL]) between Tiger and the email server.
• Internationalization - New products are fully double-byte character-enabled.
  • Translated UI - The PGP Desktop 9.0.1 user interface has been translated into German and incorporates new techniques to support multiple languages in future releases.
  • Translated documentation - PGP Universal 2.0.1 and PGP Desktop 9.0.1 user documentation, presentations, and marketing collateral are now available in German.

• New German PGP subsidiary - PGP Corporation has created a local presence to serve German-language customers.
  • PGP Deutschland AG, formed in March 2005 and based in Frankfurt, Germany, is managed by former principals at Glück & Kanja Technology AG, a German vendor of award-winning security products acquired by PGP Corporation.
• FIPS 140-2 validation - Previous PGP product versions were validated to FIPS 140-2. Updated FIPS 140-2 validation for the updated PGP Software Development Kit (SDK) included in PGP Desktop 9.0.1 and PGP Universal 2.0.1 has been submitted and is currently listed as an Implementation Under Test.
