Leading Email Encryption Vendors are First to Participate in Proofpoint's Secure Messaging Certification Program

RSA Conference, San Francisco, CA/February 14, 2005 – Proofpoint, Inc., the leader in large-enterprise messaging security solutions, today announced strategic partnerships with four of the leading secure messaging, enterprise rights management, and encryption vendors-- Authentica, PGP Corporation, PostX Corporation, and Sigaba--whereby Proofpoint and the respective secure messaging vendor will jointly market and promote each other's solutions. Proofpoint also introduced its Secure Messaging Certification Program to ensure full compatibility between secure messaging products and Proofpoint's messaging security solutions. The integration of Proofpoint's enterprise messaging security features with these best-of-breed secure messaging technologies provides customers with a complete solution for email security--delivering anti-spam, anti-virus, content compliance, content security, regulatory compliance, and email encryption features in one highly effective, easy-to-deploy platform.

The Proofpoint Protection Server® software and Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway™ appliance offer protection from all types of message-borne threats, both inbound and outbound. The company's recently introduced Proofpoint Regulatory Compliance™ and Proofpoint Digital Asset Security™ modules mitigate risks associated specifically with outbound email--helping ensure compliance with privacy and data security regulations (such as HIPAA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley) while keeping confidential documents secure.
