Recognition from Leading Industry Publications Validates Company's Leadership Position
Palo Alto, CA/15 December, 2005 – PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, announced today that for the second consecutive year, it has been named a finalist in the Best Security Company category of the SC Magazine Global Awards for 2006. The 2006 finalists were chosen from more than 1,300 nominations from 300 companies. The only global awards program for the information security industry, the SC Magazine Global Awards were enhanced in 2006 to reflect technical excellence around the world as well as professional achievement and the important role information security professionals play in helping to shape the industry. The U.S. Award winners will be announced at an event in San Jose, California, on February 14, 2006.
PGP Corporation also announced that PGP® Desktop Professional 9.0 has been chosen as the 2005 Best of the Year encryption solution by PC Magazine. According to the December 27, 2005 article announcing the winners, PGP Desktop Professional, "brings high-power encryption technology within reach." The 2005 winners were selected from more than 1,000 products in 10 categories. In September, PC Magazine gave PGP Desktop Professional an "Excellent" rating, awarding it 5 out of a possible 5 stars.
