Press Release: New U.K. Reseller Vistorm
PGP CORPORATION ANNOUNCES VISTORM AS ONE OF
THE FIRST U.K. RESELLERS
Vistorm gains competitive edge with award-winning PGP
Universal for
enterprise secure messaging
Uxbridge, UK/Palo Alto, CA/14 July, 2004 – PGP Corporation, a global leader in digital information security, today announced its partnership with Vistorm to resell PGP Universal in the U.K. As one of PGP Corporation's first value-added resellers (VARs) announced in the U.K, Internet security specialist Vistorm believes PGP Universal will give it a significant competitive edge in providing a complete email security solution to enterprise customers.
"PGP Universal is the clear answer to the need for enterprise-wide email encryption and authentication," comments Donna Pittaway, security business manager at Vistorm. "We offer a range of solutions for content scanning, antivirus, and antispam, but to provide our customers with complete email security, we needed a solution to ensure the integrity, authenticity, and confidentiality of emails. PGP Universal is a simple and elegant product that provides comprehensive email encryption and authentication in an enterprise environment, cost-effectively and efficiently."
PGP Corporation has chosen to work with Vistorm because of its experience in delivering email and Internet security solutions to blue-chip customers and its reputation as one of the leading security VARs in the U.K. In addition, Vistorm committed its consultants to undergo the extensive training and certification programme that PGP Corporation asks its resellers to complete in order to provide maximum value to the customer.
"PGP Corporation is focusing on an exclusive set of channel partners to proactively market our enterprise solution. With PGP Universal, we prefer working with a few well-qualified, committed partners rather than a broad base of resellers," explains Steve Abbott, vice president, PGP worldwide sales. "As a channel partner, Vistorm offers a staff of consultants who understand the intricacies of email security, mail flow, and network integration and have extensive experience in enterprise environments."
Vistorm is very optimistic about the U.K. prospects for PGP Universal and has already seen interest from a broad cross-section of customers. Initial interest has been driven by the need to adhere to various new regulations regarding confidentiality in the public sector and financial institutions as well as by the need to protect the confidentiality of information, particularly sensitive product information, such as in the pharmaceuticals sector.
